Time to plant out the first batch of leafy greens. Then pot up the new starters. Will be running out of space in the greenhouse soon. For those who placed orders for custom rods, ty for your patience. Had to get the time sensitive, late spring chores in order, with the warmer weather. Will be returning to 12hr days back in the shop very soon. Its always good for the mind, to take a late spring break. Tight lines.

April 25. The river certainly underwent rearrangement with heavy flows recently. The water is dropping rapidly, flood gates are closed but may be another couple weeks before we are really able to see all the changes. I personally have not had much time to fish but have been able to put in a couple hours on 2 separate occasions, since the changes. Yes , I certainly felt the difference, as my weight drifted over the bottom. Using an ultra sensitive rod, is like an xray machine but instead of by picture, by feel. Definitely felt new boulders and hangups. Right now they are manageable because they do not have wads of line snagged up on them but******* I still would like to remain optimistic about it. While perhaps there may be new snags in our favorite runs, maybe it will open other runs, that were once problematic? This is definitely not the first time the river has changed near the dam. If you have been fishing here for a long time, then perhaps you remember how different it was before the construction of the lamprey trap and berm of boulders, deposited in the center run? Either way, over the next year, im sure i will hear so many folks, who have not fished it yet, constantly measure the changes via polite conversation, while fishing. However, folks will still come and flock to this world class fishery that Tippy Dam has helped support ;) Tight lines

There are places to fish for sturgeon during open season catch and release.I do have a question though if I may, would you teach your son/daughter, to go to the river while the season is closed, cast onto sturgeon beds, snag one by the tail, try to reel it in backwards in heavy current, while it suffocates, till it is tired and almost dead, just so you can take a photo and post it?

Or** would you teach him/her, if you are fishing for other fish near sturgeon beds, to use a lighter leader and fine wire hooks, so if you do snag one by the tail, you can immediately pull/straighten the hook out so you dont disturb the spawn?

Or*** would you try to find every single excuse possible to justify the action, just to get your photo of the fish?

Just curious how people think/feel about it. In the end, we are adults and make our own decisions so no disrespect intended just curious.
