We’re sure you’ve wondered why Sombrero Brands wasn’t posting as much when Rodeo Houston started… well, this is what we were up to!
As many of you know, Sombrero Brands will always be Sombrero Ranch first! Sombrero Ranch was started by Mark’s father, Polly Hollar. Where years later Sombrero got to turn into the brand we all know and love today. So, it’s not just hats; it’s horses too. We’re so grateful to be a part of this Western lifestyle both in and out of the arena.
During the first few unofficial days of Houston Rodeo 2026, you could find Mark & Sara in the herd! Sara was especially excited to see her dad back in the pen! (As you can hear in the video 😂) Mark finished 4th overall for the HLSR 5k Novice Non-Pro show and was 2nd in the first go! Sara had a bit tougher luck, but she claims she got Mark’s horse perfect enough that his runs were more important.
On behalf of both Mark & Sara, we want to thank everyone who made that week possible: Kendahl for cheering them on in the stands, Ben Johnson Cutting Horses for keeping the horses taken care of when hats needed them, the booth crew for managing without the two top hats, and everyone else who played a vital role in these two getting shown! Also, a big shout out to for shaping and loping! He’s spurs stayed on very heavily that week!
