Just a little word about Rockwater...I don’t like to follow the pack when I build. I’m always trying to think outside the box and be as innovative as I can given the numerous limitations of various products in regard to making them a functional part of the rod build. I don’t copy deco-wrap patterns from a book or copy other builders’ works. I enjoy seeing their beautiful works, but I like to do my own thing....use high quality components, make the rod functional and high performing....and then make it beautiful. As an example, here’s a small video of some work I did with thermo paints on a Sage X fly rod. I hope you enjoy.

Frank, long time customer of mine, wanted a USA theme rod on a St. Croix with blue x-flocked grips, Fuji HD reel seat, Fuji titanium KWSG’s and Turk’s Head knot....just waiting on the guides to arrive. Paint job was by your’s truly. It takes a lot of time and effor to artistically paint a blank and make it perform, but I have discovered some really great products that I’ll likely be featuring and selling soon. Stay tuned.
