Summerween Alert! Meet Zero! Our very own Nightmare Before Christmas pup! ✨🎃

Just like Jack Skellington’s loyal ghost-dog, this Zero arrived in late June as an owner surrender and is now searching for a new forever family to love. He’s an adolescent pup with a gentle heart and a curious mind.

Zero is tolerant of other dogs in playgroups, walking calmly past pups and kennels. In the yard, he loves to explore, sniff new scents, and check out every corner — but toys? Nope! This spooky sweetheart thinks they might be monsters, so he prefers to stick close to his humans for reassurance.

He’s still learning that leashes aren’t scary and new people can be trusted. In the kennel he sometimes shows high FAS (fear, anxiety, stress). But once outside, Zero’s tail starts wagging and he leans right into affection. He’ll trot over for pets and soak up every bit of kindness you offer.

Zero may need a slow introduction to new situations and patient guidance as he gains confidence, but he already shows a gentle spirit, playful curiosity, and a desire to connect. He’s learning his commands, sits politely when asked, and drinks from the pool like he’s sipping from a spooky cauldron.

Meet Martin! 🌟

If you’re looking for a gentle, easygoing senior who just wants to love and be loved, let us introduce you to Martin. This sweet older gentleman who arrived back in mid January as a transfer from a partner shelter. He’s been through a lot of transitions, but this steady, affectionate boy continues to take everything in stride.

Martin was adopted briefly during our Mega Adoption weekend in May, but the home wasn’t the right fit — he didn’t do well with the family’s small dog. Since returning, he’s been patiently waiting for a family where he can shine as the one and only dog in the home.

💛 Why We Love Martin:
• He’s easy to leash and walks with that classic senior swagger
• He LOVES affection
• He enjoys exploring the yard, sniffing grass and herbs, and lounging in the kiddie pool to cool off.
• Treats? He takes them gently (though he sometimes decides they’re not for him).
• He responds to sit, comes when called, and likes staying close to his person.
• He has adorable “senior dog zoomies”

Martin doesn’t mind other dogs walking by in the yard, but in the home he prefers not to share space with small pets. What he truly wants is a quiet, loving home where he can spend his golden years being your loyal companion.
