A week I definitely did not look forward to… but one that has reminded me how much I have to be grateful for.

A much needed visit and dinner with my mama, flowers from my sweet friend, quiet time in God’s Word from a hospital bed, and little pieces of our dream still showing up back home.

And my husband — holding everything together at home, taking care of our boy, keeping things moving with the shop, and still making the time to come sit beside me, love on me, and remind me I’m not doing any of this alone.

Sometimes God makes His goodness the clearest through the people He puts around you.

I’m ready to be home, but right here, right now… God, I’m just grateful. 🖤

Life behind the Front Porch has looked a little different this week.

I’m spending a few days in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit while daddy is holding down the fort at home. All while we’re just a couple weeks away from opening the doors to something we’ve poured so much of ourselves into.

So if things have been a little quiet around here, this is why.

There are orders to unpack, shelves to fill, and right now, some answers we’re praying for too.

This little shop was never built because life was perfectly timed or easy. It was built in the middle of real life with a whole lot of faith, family, late nights, and figuring it out as we go.

We’re still coming. August 29th. 🤎
And we cannot wait to welcome y’all onto the Front Porch.

Turns out, the front porch was never just a name. 🤎

It’s Pure Southern Honey on the shelf. Rocking chairs and a place to sit awhile. Coffee with somebody you love. Clothes that feel like home. A view of the river and a reminder that the good life really is the simple stuff.

Piece by piece, this little place is starting to feel like everything we pictured when we dreamed up From the Front Porch.

And we’re just getting started.

Some people are just easy to cheer for.

I’ve been going to Audrey’s Nail Journey since 2023, and watching her grow her business, her family, and her faith has been such a blessing. She was one of the very first people to support us at Market on Main, and I’ll never forget that.

These western-inspired nails are my favorite set yet, and I already know they’re going to pair perfectly with the turquoise jewelry we’ll be carrying at From the Front Porch. 🤠🩵

This isn’t a Hometown Highlight… it’s a homegirl highlight. If you’re looking for a nail tech who pours her heart into what she does, go see Audrey at Salon KD in Elizabethtown.

Supporting local isn’t just about shopping. It’s about celebrating the people building something special.

Even on the busiest days, we try to slow down just enough to enjoy the little things.

As we’re getting closer to opening, we’re dreaming about what this place will become. Not just for us, but for our community.

Slow evenings. Home-cooked dinners. Jesus. Family. God’s creation. A life that doesn’t have to be fancy to be beautiful.

August 29 is getting closer, and we can’t wait to share it with y’all. 🤎

We keep saying we’re getting close… but it’s finally starting to feel real.

Painting furniture, decorating, building displays, figuring out the coffee menu, unpacking boxes, and checking off a hundred little things that no one will ever notice—but they’ll all matter when you walk through the door.

Before long, you’ll be able to grab a coffee, browse the shop, and hopefully feel like you just stopped by a friend’s front porch for a while.

Our ribbon cutting is officially scheduled, and we cannot wait to welcome y’all in.

One thing we’re still trying to decide is our hours.

If you could wave a magic wand, what would you want? Early morning coffee before work? Staying open later in the evenings? Weekend hours?

We’re building this place for our hometown, so your input really does matter. 🤎

Saturdays around here look a lot like this.

Geese flying by, Cash chasing chickens, rain rolling in, and unpacking pieces that make us even more excited to open our doors.

The new microwave & dishwasher safe mugs are in, and this Kentucky board instantly made us think of our friends at Schuler Bauer (Michelle Griffin, Realtor - Schuler Bauer Real Estate ERA Powered is the best 🤍). It’s the little things that make this place feel like home.
