Another custom piece finished! 🌲🐝🌼

This cedar garden sign was created for J & L Gardens, celebrating a love that has been “growing together” since 1983.

I really enjoyed bringing all the details together—from the pine trees and garden flowers to the little bumblebee. It’s always special creating something personal that tells a family’s story.

About a month ago, I shared a little teaser of this project—and I’m finally showing you the finished piece!

This custom retirement plaque was created to honor Ruben Marichalar and his incredible 33 years of service with the Minnesota State Patrol.

I wanted the design to feel strong, meaningful, and worthy of the years of dedication it represents. Projects like this are such an honor to create.

Here’s the finished piece! 🌲

A few of you commented that you were looking forward to seeing how it turned out—and I have to say, I’m especially happy with those trees. This was partly a test to see how the design would carve, since I’ll be using the same trees in a custom garden sign I’m working on.

Like every new CNC project, I learned a few things and already know what I’ll adjust next time, but overall I think it turned out pretty great.

Up North and Unbothered feels like the perfect attitude for cabin season. 😊
