I finally finished my winter project. It was started by a dear friend who passed on. Her husband gifted me her fabric stash so I was able to finish it for him. Photos don't seem to pick up the true colors. They are Joyce's favorite pinks, greens, creams, and maroons. It was a joy and privilege to work on this project.

My most recent quilt wall hanging was unplanned; however, when I saw this fabric panel representing Gustav Klimt's painting, I had to have it. I added the borders, put together the quilt sandwich, and then quilted around the figures. It sparkles in the light.

I just completed my fourth quilt of 2025. It has been a busy time! Using my Japanese fabrics has been a special joy. After doing one Tumbling Blocks quilt for my cousin's first grandchild, a friend ordered another one for his new house in Savannah. I was also happy to do a quick strip quilt for a friend facing a health challenge. I love doing these "comfort quilts."

It was wonderful to be a part of the Bowdoinham Guild of Artisans show this last December. I was happy to feature my latest quilt based on a painting by Hilma af Klint. She was the first abstract artist (1906) who had an amazing career in Sweden. Here is to a New Year filled with inspiration and creation

I am excited to be participating in the Open Farm and Studio Day on Sunday, July 23. I'll be located at Dandelion Spring Farm just up the road from home. More details to come next week.

I'm experimenting with a nice tote design. It's great to use some of my special fabrics. They are 14" x 14" with lots of pockets.

I bought this African fabric many years ago and have finally created what is called a "whole cloth" quilt. I added the batting and backing and then free motion machine quilted around the figures. I added some extra figures using hand quilting--the "rivers" and the Africa outline. The photo doesn't do justice to the beautiful colors and stenciling from the original artist. It was such fun to do.

I am very happy to have completed this tie quilt commission for a college classmate who brought all his ties to our college reunion (he just retired). Kudos to anyone who can spot the diagonal that has all his Scottish ties. On the back, I created a panel with the labels. I couldn't bear to throw away his Liberty of London label....or any of the others.

I just delivered a commissioned t-shirt quilt to my friend, Larinda (on the left). Sally (on the right) is my friend and colleague with whom I shared an office for many years. Larinda's college dorm mates gather every summer (since 1999) and commemorate each year with a new t.shirt. It was a dream to do with my new machine.

Here is my grandnephew's "off to college" quilt. The time from his baby quilt to college quilt went way too fast. He is off to Rose Hulman in Indiana. Their colors are red (maroony) and white.

I am so excited that my latest project will be included in the alumni art show at my 50th College reunion. It is a Frank Lloyd Wright design for a rug. I fell in love with the design. It was a 2 month project.
