Over the holiday weekend, one of our troopers was deploying spike strips to stop an impaired driver who was traveling the wrong way when his vehicle was struck. To avoid being hit by the suspect's vehicle, the trooper jumped over the cable barrier but was struck by it. Thankfully, he is home recovering and expected to make a full recovery.
This crash is a powerful reminder that impaired driving is completely preventable. One decision can change lives in an instant.
