Feeling bummed. The motor on my Marin Riftzone e gave up the ghost with less than 2k miles on it. I'm not sure what the next move here is but I sure made a lot of good memories on this bike. Time for a new one, maybe?

We made a trip up to Sunrise Park Resort this past weekend for round 2 of their downhill race series. We got some good riding in on Saturday despite me breaking my derailleur. I just took off the chain and went pure gravity. I had to go Flintstones style in a few spots but I was still able to get speed and hit the jumps. Unfortunately on Sunday, on his practice run before the race, Branson crashed and sprained his wrist pretty good. So the race was off and we took a DNS. Fortunately he didn't break his wrist and just has to wear a brace for awhile. Its time to heal up and get ready for round 3.

For those that don't know and want a basic understanding what exactly is downhill mountain biking this is a great synopsis. And they are correct, ultimately it is about the flow. Flow is a magical state where your body and mind go into autopilot and its an incredible experience.

Would you look at that, Branson is ranked 21st in the nation in USA Cycling. This is without his 3rd place in the Northwest Cup being listed. With that I think he would rank higher. Let's go Branson!
