Over 40 years later, not only are they still married but we will be doing the flowers for their daughter’s wedding in July! One of the best parts of the job and this industry is often getting to celebrate the big milestones within families (especially our own!). We have so many clients where we’ve been lucky enough to do their sister’s/brother’s/cousin’s weddings as well. It’s always an honor and a privilege to be trusted time and time again with the flowers for these celebrations.

In honor of our 40th year in business, this week we’re taking you back to Kelly’s first wedding…. It’s November 1985 just before Artistic Blossoms would launch a few months later. Kelly’s uncle Jeff is getting married and they hire her to do the flowers. The bride is open-minded and trusts Kelly’s eye— she only has one request: to incorporate some yellow flowers.

It’s so fun to look back on these images and see Kelly’s artistic style— the design feels so sculptural and the flowers are a mix of exotic and local blooms. To this day, Kelly still loves to cut that purple blossom (Liatris) from our garden to incorporate into certain designs.

And yes, we can confirm Jeff & Ellen (the bride and groom) are still happily married over 40 years later!

Gelato, anyone? 🍨

We had so much fun working on this photoshoot for the launch of .merla ‘s gelato cart. It was a gorgeous day with a fun team of members. We wanted to make the florals as luscious as the gelato! Gorgeous full-petaled blossoms like ranunculus, roses, sweet pea, and tulips trailed up the sides of the cart. We’d love to decorate this cart again for your wedding day!
