Healing Scars is possible , wrinkles, scars and stretch marks can be recovered .
Skin needling is the preferred way to fix these problems because by puncturing the skin on a microscopic level we are able to harness our own body's healing power to our benefit, without actually damaging it. With other methods, such as chemical peels for example, in which the external layer of the skin is burned, the skin is left exposed to the sun's harmful UV rays, causing more elaborate dam.. We all want perfect skin and to look younger longer. It is easier to prevent skin damage than to repair it, but as I explained in the previous article "What Skin Needling Is", the good news is that using a derma roller (as well as other skin needling tools), it is now possible to address one of the…

Anti Ageing #1 - lift some wrinkles around the eyes and lips - Customer testimonial:
Derma Roller Testimonial

Skin needling is practiced worldwide in beauty salons by doctors, estheticians and cosmetologists.

Does it really work?

One of our customers, a woman named D.B., has agreed to share her own experience with dermarolling including some interesting before-and-after photos. She had undergone a series of 6 treatments overall, 6 weeks apart, starting on September 2011, mostly to lift some wrinkles around the eyes and lips.

This is how she described it:

"I had my treatment at Musgrave clinic at Musgrave park in Durban. It was not painful as they used an anaesthetic gel to numb the skin. I had it done over a weekend as I could not go in the sun. My face was very red and bleeding a little on the forehead but they used a good mask on it to cool it down and then a moisturiser."

"It was a 1.5mm [roller]. I paid five thousand rand [=$600] for the treatments and paid 2,500 rand [=$300] for the dermaroller ..." Read More @

Healing Atrophic Scars #5

Treating Atrophic Scars with a Derma Roller:

Scars are a natural part of the healing process of injured skin.

There are two main types of scars: Atrophic and Hypertrophic.

Hypertrophic scars occur when the body overproduces collagen, which causes the scar to be raised above the surrounding skin. Atrophic scars are exactly the opposite: they are caused by tissue loss and result in a valley or hole in the skin.

Acne Scars are probably the most common type of atrophic scars. They are created when the skin has been unable to fully repair itself to the point it was before an acne outbreak. It is a very common condition and when present on the face in particular, it can often be emotionally stressful and cause self-confidence issues.

Derma rollers are particularly effective in treating Atrophic scars. The micro-needles of the derma roller gently encourage your acne scarring or pitted scarring to fill up and drastically reduce in appearance by increasing collagen levels in the skin, triggering it to renew itself.

Our recommended regimen for treating pitted scars on the face or body is as follows:

Healing Acne Scars #4

Skin Needling is exceptionally useful for treating scars left by acne, chicken pox or surgical procedures. Usually the application of a regenerative cream or scar serum will be needed while rolling the skin in order to maximize the results.

So why everyone are talking about collagen ?
Most people interested in maintaining youthful skin and reducing wrinkles have heard about collagen. But what exactly is collagen and why is it so important when it comes to our skin?

Collagen, along with elastin, is a key structural component in the skin, particularly its lower layer (Dermis). Collagen is the protein that gives the skin its strength, resilience and firmness, while elastin provides flexibility to the skin tissues. As we age, the cells in our skin become thinner and lose elasticity because of the decreased levels of collagen production in our body. The skin cells also divide more slowly, which delays the regeneration and repair of the skin. It is interesting to note that continued sunlight exposure also takes its toll on the skin, as it causes the collagen in our skin to break down faster than natural aging actually does.

When the levels of collagen in our skin start dropping we get wrinkles, sagging skin, and other skin symptoms associated with aging. Our body takes longer to repair wounds so they are more likely to develop into scars and hyper-pigmentation (sun spots).

Stretch marks are deep tears in the dermis, often the result of rapid growth (common in puberty), weight gain, and pregnancy, and they are incredibly hard to treat. In fact, there is no known procedure (including different kinds of lasers) that can get rid of them completely. Skin Needling offers a ...

Healing scars #2:
Could using a derma-roller damage my skin?

No. Because the micro-needles in the roller are so tiny, they are able to pe*****te the top layer of the skin without damaging it. They create a tiny wound in the skin, but you cannot see or feel it as the damage is on a minute scale. After rolling the pores remain open for about an hour, allowing any creams and lotions applied to be far better absorbed in the skin.

Where and when should the roller not be used?

The Derma Roller should NOT be used on pustular acne lesions, active herpes outbreaks, or any other acute infection or inflammation of the skin, and is not recommended for those with the following:

Blood clotting problems
Poor healing
Skin Malignacies
Rosacea
Eczema
Psoriasis
Severe solar keratosis
Raised moles/warts
Open cuts
