The Lincoln Beanie Pattern has been my best selling pattern. ❀

I think it's a favorite due to its unique construction (worked in rows rather than the round) and the endless color combinations. πŸ₯°

The North Conway design is a favorite of mine because of all the squish, texture, and warmth. πŸͺ΅πŸ”₯

When I designed this pattern, I wanted to capture the warmth and texture of an oversized aran sweater. πŸ₯°

What goes into my designing process? πŸ€”

This is my On-the-Fly Beanie design. I think the name says it all πŸ˜†.

I had a vision in my mind, took my hook and yarn, and let my hands do the work. This design worked up on-the-fly. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

The hardest part is translating the designing process into words, especially when the stitch construction is one that is unique.

This design was one of my firsts πŸ₯°.

πŸ€”πŸ’ So, how long does it take me to make a beanie?

I get this question A LOT, but I never sit down from start to finish to work on one so I don't really know πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Let's figure it out!

1) Stand in front of my yarn shelves contemplating on what yarn to use ~ 5-15 minutes

2) Crochet/knit the beanie ~ 1-2 hours (depending on pattern and materials)

3) Finish the beanie by sewing in the ends and closing the top ~ 10 minutes

4) Sit in front of my pom pom bins and go through them all to find the perfect pom pom ~ 5-30 minutes (depending upon whether or not I have to create the pom pom)

5) Attach the pom pom by adjusting and readjusting to ensure it's just right ~ 5-10 minutes

6) Finish it with the perfect tag ~ 2 minutes

Total Creation Time: 1 hour 27 minutes - 2 hours 7 minutes 😲

❓ One question I get all the time is:

"What is the difference between knitting and crochet?" πŸ€”

The short answer is:

Crochet uses a hook and knitting uses two needles.

As someone who does both, there are technical differences as well as visual differences. I won't bore you with nerding out on all the yarn stuff 🀣

Bonus points if you can guess if the pictured beanie is knitted or crocheted πŸ₯°
