With the new edition Pariah Nexus, focusing on fast units that can skirmish and move to grab objectives I have started a 5 Man Jump Pack Intercessors squad. These will be Ravenwing so all black instead of green so wanted to highlight their allegiance with some iconography from the Dark Angels Upgrade Sprue. Good start to this key unit for Pariah Nexus rules games.

Companion number two got some sweet monastic robes going. Been trying to lay down some good depth and texture so that those highs pop liter and those lows really add that dark I need to make it look like rippled cloth. For the sheen just little glaze medium to give that cloth its lushness. Lots of fun painting these lads and not arms are attached too many details would be obscured by the sword arm to paint properly!

So I have been making these molten lava bases with a quick process. I have included the whole in the other slides and paints I use.

Step 1 choose the depth of the red you want by using a Red Metallic, Yellow Metallic or Blue/Purple metallic paint. The paint your base area you want lava.
2. After paint one is dry add a liberal amount of red contrast or speed paint. Reds can be any type that ducts the kava you are going for. Also use premixed contrast paints for better results. Liberal amounts to get applied.
3. Take your Yellow contrast paint. Soak the brush in yellow and don’t wick away excess. The submerge your yellow into the wet red contrast. This will leave yellow underneath and some cool effects as it goes into the red paint.

The metallic underneath cause a nice wet shimmer effect.

So you are not supposed to have favorites amongst your children, but we all know the deal. The robes on this Azrael are my favorite thing I have painted date. Used a Lehman Medium and Dark Angels contrast in small applications to slowly blend and build those values. Models isn’t finished but love where he is right now.

First thank you for the kind words and likes on my most recent post. I apologize for my prolonged absence.

I guess I had reflected on why I make art and didn’t know if posting was as much a priority as making art. But I see now that some of my creations matter to others and so I want to continue to inspire the way so many have inspired me.

Today is a little piece. Literally. Also a good piece to maybe explain how I approach this hobby. I want to make perfect pieces and will work on something big or small until it meets my standards. I just want everything to be the way I envision it. Is that realistic, absolutely not. But I think aiming for your true perfect vision is great place to set your sights, but allow flexibility in the journey and you may get somewhere else amazing along the way.

Been quiet for a minute but don’t worry I have still being pumping out my creations LOL. Here is the first of my eliminators. He kicked the. Vindicare out of his perch and blended in with his camp cloak amongst the statuary. Going to do a shimmering effect as the cloak ripples from natural state to cover mimicry. Wanted to show a lil WIP to my friends!
