I wish you could smell these amazing soaps that just got delivered!! Amazing!! You’ll be able to see them next week at our space inside 1919 Antiques right down the street! So many old favorites and new ones will be added to the soap stock!!

Waldo Krueger - Photographer in Bonduel, Wisconsin

Waldo Krueger played a vital role in photographically recording local and family history. It is believed that he was working in the capacity of a professional photographer by 1900. His first store was located next to his parents home on north Cecil Street. An ad in a 1910 Bonduel Times indicates that he offered post cards, photo buttons, watch charms, purses and match cases. Pictures could be mounted on all of the above.

His services include studio shots and "on call" services to take pictures of houses, barns, stock etc. at any place when called. Flash light pictures and post cards were highlighted. Also enlargements of your own photographs. Later this building got moved across the street next to the Herman Lutz store.

Waldo also entered other business ventures but his primary employment was as a photographer and later as an insurance agent.

When he died in 1955, he was operating a store, offering his photographic as well as insurance services. This store was then sold to Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Buss of Clintonville.

Biography
Waldo Krueger was born October 1, 1888 in Red River in the Town of Richmond. His parent, Mr. and Mrs. August Krueger, moved to Bonduel when Waldo was six years old. He attended the Bonduel Grade School and Schneider School of Photography in Green Bay. He served in WW I from 1918 to 1919. He married Clara Gehm on September 27, 1922.

Waldo was a member of Freiden's Lutheran Church, he worked as a substitute mail carrier, drove bus for the Bonduel School, was a charter member of the Bonduel Legion Post No. 217, was the secretary of the Bonduel Fire Dept. for 25 years and was committeeman for the Shawano County Republican Party.

The Mercantile will be open Fridays and Saturdays until September 17th, then will be closed for Winter.

We will be open today and tomorrow 10-5.
