FIRST THURSDAY, June 4th 6-8pm at Cats Eye!

Lindy English is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and storyteller whose work explores trauma, nervous system healing, identity, resilience, and the quiet process of returning to self.

Through symbolic creatures, emotional narratives, and nature-rooted imagery, her work bridges the space between survival and softness. Blending whimsy with
emotional depth, her exhibit, Creatures of the Steady invites viewers into a world where healing is not perfection, but presence, connection, and the courage to remain human.

Join us for the Opening Reception!

We are in the business of keeping usable creative materials out of landfills and in the hands of creatives!

This entity is only possible because people in our community make the effort to donate their unwanted craft supplies to us. They don’t do the “easy” thing and just throw things away. They see the value and potential in their materials and make a conscious choice to bring them to Cats Eye, where they feel confident that those materials will get passed along for another to use and enjoy. It is cyclical. It is symbiotic. We’re all helping out each other! (And the planet! 🌎)

Thank you to all of our donors, patrons, and supporters of all kinds. We love being here and doing this work in beautiful Boise, and hope to be around for a long time! ❤️♻️❤️

🌎 Theme: Worlds Within

When the external world feels uncertain or heavy, we can turn inward... together. This workshop is an invitation to explore what exists beneath the surface: your emotions, memories, and subconscious knowledge. What might emerge if you gave it form?

Explore your Worlds Within through collage using vintage magazines and ephemera. We’ll cover cutting and tearing techniques, various tools, adhesives, and substrates, along with ways to express yourself through symbolism and composition.

She’s got things to say! 😤

Millennial grievances? Perhaps. But please take me out of this simulation… I’M TIRED GRANDPA! I just want to run this store, provide a valuable resource to my community, keep things out of the landfill, and encourage creativity, critical thinking, and MAKING THINGS WITH YOUR HUMAN HANDS.

I literally dropped out of the Comm Design program in college 🫠 I’m not a digital kinda gal. I’m not a salesperson. Marketing/advertising on social media is necessary they’ll say, you won’t get new customers they’ll say.. call me old fashioned, but I literally could not care less about what “they say”. I think that what I’m doing is important, and lots of my supporters think so too.

So. Come to the shop. Talk to me, a real person. Touch things. Get inspired. Share what you make. I WANNA SEE IT.

If you wanna teach a class, reach out. If you wanna host an in person community event, reach out. If you wanna stay informed about what’s happening around here, sign up for our newsletter. I’ll continue posting to stories about things I’m adding to the sales floor, and I’ll otherwise post when there are things to say. But girl, do not expect much else from in this realm. She’s crashing out!! 🙃

💐We’re so excited to share about our upcoming art show with local collage artist Jaime Roberts in May.

Her exhibition, Fragment & Figure, is an exploration of our personified relationship to the natural world. It
considers ideas like the blossoming of thought, the seasonality of mood, the creative energy of
the feminine, and the enduring influence of ancestry. The work bridges human figure and tools
with the landscape we emerge from and depend upon.Through this merging of body and earth,
the pieces explore a shared visual and emotional language. This interplay highlights the
harmony and tension between the natural and man-made. Ultimately, the work seeks to reorient
the viewer toward a sense of source, something that exists both within and around, before and
after; contemplating the human experience in a larger, living system.

✨Mark your calendars for Friday May 1st 6pm-8pm for her opening reception at Cats Eye. And keep an eye out for information on the workshop she’ll be hosting here for World Collage Day on May 9th!

🌷It’s that time of year! Are you spring cleaning, decluttering, purging, downsizing, refreshing etc etc???

If you have gently used unwanted art and craft supplies taking up space, you can donate them to Cats Eye Creative Reuse! We also accept all kinds of containers, vintage, and funky finds!

If your donation is 3 boxes or less, no need to make an appointment. Bring it in anytime between 11am-5pm on Wednesdays or Saturdays 🎨 (give us a call or text if you need to come by on a different day)
