Free Piano Workshop! 🎹 In this workshop, Keith will provide answers and solutions to your piano teaching questions and challenges, which inspired his latest series: Progressive Piano Repertoire and Keith Snell Piano Course for the Adult Beginner.

Keith Snell began teaching piano at fifteen under his mother, Carol Snell. Maintaining an independent studio, he teaches a range of students from advanced high schoolers to young beginners. Co-author of Piano Town and the highly acclaimed Fundamentals of Piano Theory, Keith is also renowned as the editor of the Piano Repertoire series and the Master Composer Library.

Congratulations to the 55 K-12 Minnesota music educators who were selected for the Music Educator Side-By-Side rehearsal and performance project with Music Director Thomas Søndergård and the Minnesota Orchestra. 🎉 🎶

These educators will work with Søndergård in rehearsals and performances at Orchestra Hall, where they will play alongside Minnesota Orchestra musicians. This project reflects Søndergård’s priority to highlight the importance of music education and to celebrate the contributions of music educators.

Minnesota All State auditions are open now!

Opus is open NOW for the 2024 All-State Auditions! Folks can start uploading auditions at any time. New this year- you can upload auditions BEFORE you pay! The Audition deadline is at NOON (12PM) on February 27th, 2024. We recommend that folks finish uploads no later than the evening of February 26th, so that staff can be available during the regular workday on February 27th to support if needed. 2024-2025 Audition Material and a link to the Opus Portal is available on the MMEA Auditions webpage, in addition to a few new resources including a visual timeline and a student/teacher checklist for recording audition videos.
