Nettie Jarvis Antiques is one of the main attractions in historic downtown Bloomfield, Kentucky. The building has been carefully preserved to its turn of the century splendor and houses two stories of fine American and Kentucky antiques.

We had a wonderful chance encounter with a lovely couple visiting from Quincy, Massachusetts. Nettie Jarvis was already closed for the day, but after meeting them, we couldn’t resist opening the doors and letting them explore. They ended up finding a few treasures to take home—but the real treasure of the evening was the connection that followed.

Thanks to Jenny and Tom Wigginton, Ian was able to learn more about his family tree and uncover pieces of his own history along the way.

What started as an unexpected visit turned into a fantastic evening filled with stories, history, new friendships, and a little bit of that Nettie Jarvis magic.

Ann and Ian, we absolutely loved having you. Enjoy the rest of your Kentucky stay, and we hope to see you for the JD Shelburne street concert here on Saturday!

Key Responsibilities
General Cleaning: Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, rugs, and carpets.

Surface Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and polish furniture, fixtures, mirrors, and glass surfaces.

Restroom & Kitchen Care: Deep clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens, including appliances, counters, sinks, and toilets.

Linen & Laundry: Wash, fold, iron, and store clothes or linens; change bed sheets and make beds.

Food & Beverage Service: Assist with basic food preparation, plating, and serving meals or beverages to family members or guests as needed; clear and clean dining areas after service.

Trash & Recyclables: Empty trash bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste properly.

Inventory Management: Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify management/homeowner when restocking is needed.

Specialized Care: Safely handle delicate surfaces (e.g., hardwood, marble, stainless steel) and follow proper product usage instructions.
