MAIDENCREEK OLD TIME MUSIC FESTIVAL

Every year, Maier's Grove hosts the Maidencreek Old Time Music Festival on the 2nd Sunday of July. The Festival is a unique event where people who play (or would like to play) Old Time fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer and other instruments can learn. Unlike other local or regional events, the festival emphasizes hands-on learning in the person-to-person way in which these tunes and songs were originally shared. ​​

Steven Simpson is a banjo-guitar-mando-picking bass player and singer. Steven and his wife of many years dance and teach salsa. He is a Pastor with the UCC Church. He performs mostly on banjo and vocals in the Bluegrass band Crow Hill, on bass in the band Three Tall Guys, and on all of the instruments he can when he plays solo.
