Today we’re celebrating the women who taught us patience, kindness, and how to keep a cooler full of snacks on every fishing trip.
Some of us learned to bait a hook standing beside our mama, our grandma, or that one aunt who could out‑fish every man on the river without ever bragging about it.

To all the moms who raised us on love, laughter, and long days by the water — thank you.

🎣 DEEP DITCH LURES — A LITTLE FISHING HISTORY FROM THE DITCH BANKS TO THE DAWN OF TIME

Before any of us were chunkin’ spinners into the Satilla or easing a cork past a cypress knee, folks were fishing. Matter of fact, fishing is older than written history itself — older than plows, older than most tools, older than the idea of “civilization.”

From sharpened bones used as hooks thousands of years ago… to woven nets stretched across muddy river mouths… to cane poles cut fresh from the bank… fishing has always been the same simple truth: a person, a line, and the hope that something hungry is out there.

Here in South Georgia, we’re part of that same story. Our granddaddies fished the same waters their granddaddies did — the Satilla, the Alabaha, the ditches, the ponds, the creeks that only show up after a hard rain. The gear changed, the boats changed, but the feeling never did.

And that’s why we build lures the way we do.
Not fancy. Not fragile. Not over‑engineered.
Just hand‑built tools meant to keep a very old tradition alive — catching supper, making memories, and telling lies about fish that “got off right at the boat.”

Attention: We are monitoring the weather for tomorrow, looks like we are scheduled for some much needed rain for the area. We have not cancelled yet but will continue to monitor and will make a decision in the morning.
