August 17 is National Nonprofit Day, and we'd rather spend it talking about you than about us.

Every service we provide is free. Crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, court advocacy, support groups. A survivor never sees a bill. That's possible only because people across south central North Dakota decided this work was important enough to pay for.

Fifty years in, that hasn't changed.

So if you've given, volunteered, dropped a bag of supplies at our door, or shopped at Seeds of Hope, thank you.

Happy National Thrift Shop Day to the only store in Bismarck where the sweater you buy helps somebody start over.

Seeds of Hope does more than raise money. Survivors find interview clothes through our Career Closet, pick out household furnishings when they're setting up a new place, and some train on the sales floor to build retail experience for a résumé that has a gap in it.

You'll find us at 520 E. Main Avenue, open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday.

Donations are accepted during those hours every open day except Wednesday, and we ask that you box or bag things first.
