But what a pretty spot to get skunked. Fished for a few hours then chatted with a local at the launch. The pond blew out in the 2018 hurricane. They've repaired the damn but the fishing has never been the same. Can confirm!

We stumbled upon a cemetery on the way out. Fascinating but depressing.

Tomorrow we will be taking another shot and crossing an infamous fish off our list. The jack fish. Pickerel. We are traveling to a lake that has been reported to host redfin and chain pickerel. I went with a sun fish color way in hopes of eliciting a bit from this ambush predator. Here, fishy!!

Do you see the heart, too?

What a morning! The fellas woke up in a great mood. We had a Show and Tell emergency that we were able to repair with a pocketknife, my keys, and some teamwork. I saw an eastern box turtle 🐢 waiting to cross the road (I love turtles). Then, a heart shaped sunrise.
