Homemade driftwood creations Each fish materializes out of some shape in each of those unique pieces of wood.

What began as a simple project to decorate a wall in our lake house has turned into what looks like a stick explosion on our back porch. We stumbled across areas all along Rock Creek, the center most feeder creek for Smith Lake in northern Alabama, where huge collections of driftwood get caught on their way through the Sipsey Wilderness. They are glued and stapled together using multiple sizes of

staples from pnuematic air guns. They are then cleaned, cured and clear coated with multiple layers of matte polyurethane. Each fish takes about two weeks to complete. Each is hand engraved and comes with a label with their name as well as the number in the order they were created.
