The July theme for Leeds Lit Book Club is Banned Books! 📚

We will be reading Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, and we’d love for you to join us. Whether you’re a longtime member or thinking about coming for the first time, new faces are always welcome around our table.

⚾📚 Book Club Night at the Ballpark! 📚⚾

Our book club attended Book Lover’s Night at the Birmingham Barons baseball game, and while we may not know much about baseball, we learned that ignorance is no obstacle to having a great time.

Some of the important questions asked during the evening included:

📖 “Why don’t they just put the bases closer together?”
📖 “If they already have the ball, why are they still running?”
📖 “Do they get to keep the baseball if they win?”
📖 “How many chapters are in a baseball game?”
📖 “Is the mascot the narrator?”

📖 “Can we skip to the ending and see who wins?”
📖 “Are extra innings basically the sequel?”

Despite our complete lack of baseball expertise, we laughed until our sides hurt, enjoyed a beautiful evening at the ballpark, and made some wonderful memories together.

Sometimes the best part of book club isn’t finishing the book—it’s sharing adventures with fellow readers.

We’ve got a good problem!

Because of the incredible support from our community, we’ve accumulated a little more inventory than our shelves can handle. So we’re doing what bookstores do best—sharing the love of books.

If anybody is able to, the little free pantry could use some love. It’s been very busy recently, unfortunately, and it needs a refreshing. We accept donations of unopened people food and pet food, as well as toiletries.
