Tomorrow marks one year since I closed my consignment store rEVOLVEr resale. I still miss it and am still grieving losing something I poured my heart and soul into, a dream I had for over ten years that I am so grateful to have had the chance to bring into the world, if only for a short time. I’m proud I followed my dreams and created a space to shop secondhand to help the environment that was also a gender-free store with no “women’s” or “men’s” sections because clothes are just clothes and gender is a social construct. And to have had the opportunity to support local artists! I hope it inspired others to follow their dreams and create the world we want to see.
Thank you to everyone who supported my lil shop while it lasted and who supported me along the way. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but also one of the most rewarding. I had hoped it would be something that lasted the rest of my life, but life is funny that way and throws you curveballs sometimes. I don’t regret any of it. Entrepreneurship is so challenging, and to those who are out there trying to make it in a world that favors convenience and large corporations, I see you and honor your hard work. Here’s to trying to make something beautiful in an oftentimes ugly world. ♥️
