When making heating pads, I pay attention to what customers are shopping for, and what is in style for the year. I especially pay attention to the area in which I live.

Now that I live in Montana, I get fabrics that appeal to western wear, or farm life.

A customer asked if I had any John Deere items and that point, I hadn't. So this is what I will be bringing to my next vendor show in March.

I may not know the name of my mailman, I do appreciate the fact that he brings me my fabric without knowing it.

Is is always fun to see what the packaging looks like when I do get my fabric.

These flannels came in a regular mailer (nothing special) and are too small for my short heating pads and so they will be used for another project.

Happy Friday y'all. Tonight my family will be watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Italy. I am looking forward to watching these amazing athletes do their sports and well.

I had started my side business 16 years ago and I didn't know what I was doing. Over the years, I learned how to make my product better and more efficient, the benefits of heating pads, how to have a successful craft/vendor show and in the quiet time of the year - do more the behind the scenes work so that my busy season is a success.

My family has lived in enough places in the states that I had to figure out needs and wants of different covers and when I needed to start limit my presence because my sales start to slow down.

I enjoy watching potential customers realizing that heating pads can be used for aches and pains as well as keeping yourself warm, especially your feet when going to bed.

My heating pads can also be used as cool packs for those who don't do well with heat.

Our Story

I started making heating pads when my family lived in St. Helens, Oregon. My husband and I were visiting his family one weekend and his dad had accidently bought a 50 pound bag of flaxseed and didnā€™t know what to do with it. My mother in law suggested the idea of heating pads and I went with it and have been making heating pads ever since. I only use flaxseed in my heating pads and have flannel covers because of how soft the fabric is and can come off to wash. There are several other ideas I can do to expand my line, it is just a matter of time and money to do so.
