As a creator, I cannot help but absorb what is happening in the world today. I am saddened by Charlie Kirk's death and the depravity after. I honestly haven't known how to respond. Social media has seemed like such a dark place. I am tired of all the hate and recycled arguments filled with half-truths. I created this painting to gain perspective. Making two shifting profiles. My inspiration came from my eye therapy, I am doing exercises with 3D glasses, and I felt inspired to paint this in blue and red to offer the idea of a slightly different perspective for each profile. The truth is, if I had not shifted years ago and found the hope of Jesus, I would be crushed by the weight of these years. Jesus alone rescued me from not just heartache but also death.
If you need a shift in perspective, God says in the Bible, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” If you don't know where to start, I encourage you to just start praying to Jesus. Ask Him to help you. If you want to take it a step further, go to church and find a community of people that will encourage you in your faith. If the Bible seems too intimidating to read, download the book In God's Underground by Richard Wurmbrand. His biography demonstrates true Christian love. His perspective and story of being imprisoned and tortured for his faith for 14 years, yet still showing love, changed me.
Friend, may you find a fresh perspective of God's deep love for you today. Take a breath and cherish the life you've been given. Remember the sacredness of our humanity.
