Only 8 days left and I'm on a plane, with Finn, headed to Italy...a final move, at least as far as I know.
I've had a lot of comments and questions, some public and some private. "Why? Wow, you're so brave. What are you doing to do there? Do you have family there? Is it hard to get the VISA and deal with all of the paperwork and such?"

Italy has always held a fascination to me. After numerous trips, it became apparent that it was where I belonged. I have a smile in my heart, when I'm there. I'm not brave, I'm just determined. No family there, but my hopes are that my Italian friends will become like family.

Now, as far as the VISA and paperwork and all of that. I could have never done it alone! I had some help from a few acquaintances and friends in my new home town, but the lion's share of the details were tackled by a wonderful couple, who live out in New York, Lorenzo Mengoli and Skylar Jeffries of www.mymediterrain.com

Skylar found me floundering on an Italian Ex-Pat site and approached to help. She and her husband had developed a personal service to help Americans who want to move to Italy. At first, I was a bit skeptical - there are just too many con artists out there or services who provide a cookie-cutter service, but charge as though it's personalized. I was delighted to find out that what they provided was exactly what I needed....EXACTLY!

For those of you who are interested in moving and have been asking me questions, I can't recommend Lorenzo and Skylar enough! He is actually from Italy, so he speaks perfect Italian. He also fully understands the Italian culture, real estate issues and the many flaming hoops that need to be jumped through, in order to move, buy, and get fully set up in your new home.

Skylar provides Lorenzo with the many questions and concerns that an American has and is a whiz at research and getting everything prepped for action. The two of them are an amazing team and I never felt fearful or that they'd cut me loose, once I bought a place in Italy.

My house purchase finalizes tomorrow! I will own my home in Italia! There's SO MUCH more to this whole journey, which I will be writing about on a blog, which will be available via their website. However, that will be after I get settled and gather all of my thoughts.

I am moving to Italy later this year, so I'm selling almost everything, including my house!
I used to own a consignment store, plus I am a clothes horse. Everything is either new or in excellent condition. No stains, no tears no smoke smells, etc.

I was also a buyer for 3 gift stores in Seattle. I have a lot of NEW gift items, which I will be selling for less than wholesale. What does that mean. If an item is marked $10 in the store. The store paid $5 for it. I will sell it for less than what I paid for it. Lots of European soaps, lotions, some Burt's Bees products, high end scented candles, etc.

I'm having a Moving to Italy Sale!!! Everything needs to go. Prices are lower than you'll get at any secondhand store. The clothes are clean and from a smoke-free home. No rips or tears or damaged zippers, etc. Good quality used and new clothing!
