Jeff LaBelle started with Volk Packaging on September 15, 1997. He was presented the Benjamin Volk Award for Excellence 2006. We have a lot of amazing people with great skills at Volk Packaging but if tomorrow morning I had to start a corrugated box company from scratch, my first hire would be Jeff LaBelle.
Jeff, one of our shift supervisors, has not only worked throughout the plant on every machine. He always steps up when needed. Jeff has been moved to second shift when needed, works Saturdays, stays over time, learns and successfully runs new machines, and has done an incredible job training countless machine assistants and operators.
Several years ago, Jeff asked me if he could give me “the Jeff LaBelle tour” of Volk Packaging. He wanted to show me all the improvements to the operation that he has been involved with over the years to make sure I was aware of them. While I did know about most of them, I also learned more about my company than before his custom tour. What I was most impressed by was the passion by which he showed me the plant. It is that passion, and the love for Volk Packaging so many employees have, that inspire me every day to make the company not only successful, but a company that honors its core values and is a great place to come to work.
