For centuries, the glass industry in Hebron (or Al Khalil), Palestine has flourished, dating back to Roman times when Phoenician developments in glassmaking first made their way to Hebron. What makes this glassmaking style so unique is the Phoenician technique of “free-blowing,” where glassmakers blow air into the material instead of a mold to make its shape. The result is this stunning, one-of-a-kind glass you see today that is centuries in the making.

Remembering the Nakba & Honoring Palestinian Solidarity

Every year on May 15th Palestinians across Palestine and the diaspora commemorate the Nakba (“catastrophe”) – the 1948 forced displacement of over 750,000 Palestinians, the destruction of 530 Palestinian villages and cities, and the killing of over 15,000 Palestinians at the hands of the zionist entity while seizing control of Palestinian land.

While the Nakba marks a historical event, the ongoing genocide in Gaza has made it even clearer that the Nakba did not end 78 years ago — it continues today. As we remember the Nakba, we are reminded of the importance of standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and supporting their ongoing fight for liberation and right of return.
