EPermitting A facility owner must receive an Agency permit to treat, store or dispose of a hazardous waste. The owners must fill out an application for a permit.

For instance, permits are required to operate hazardous waste landfills or incinerators. At that point an Agency Permit Writer and the Public Participation Specialist begin contact with the community. After evaluating the application, Agency either denies the application or issues a draft permit. An Agency Permit Writer follows the permit through the evaluation process. When the draft permit is is

sued, it is made available for public review. Agency considers any comments received and then decides whether to approve, modify, or deny the permit.
