25 years ago, today, Amorphis released their 4th full-length album, "Tuonela," on Nuclear Blast. A continuing progression from the band's early death/doom sound, this album brings heavy influences of 60s/70s space rock and a truly progressive atmosphere. This album is not to be overlooked.

The original line-up featured Pasi Koskinen on vocals, Esa Holopainen & Tomi Koivusaari on guitars, Olli-Pekka Laine on bass and Pekka Kasari on drums.

Check out the comments for audio from a live show in 2000 at Annie's in Cincinnati, OH, featuring several tracks from this album.

1954 Mercury Shuffle Alley game, same as last post. Has good bones and would be a great restoration for a game room or man cave. Would make a great deal to take this and the Gottlieb Surf Side pinball machine.

Need this gone if anyone is interested. I'm sure we can work something out. Would be a nice restoration project. Also have a 1954 Mercury Shuffle Alley game that needs electrical work & restoration. Would make a great deal to anyone who would be interested in taking both.

30 years ago, today, Bethesda released "The Elder Scrolls: Arena" on Microsoft DOS. The release of this game began the epic journey of The Elder Scrolls series, arguably the greatest western RPG series to date.

The game follows the player trying to uncover a conspiracy against Emperor Uriel Septim VII, spanning the entire continent of Tamriel. This game set the bar for open world video games that wasn't surpassed until the release of "The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall" two years later.

40 years ago, today, Savatage released their iconic EP, "The Dungeons Are Calling," on Combat Records. Although not a full-length release, this EP arguably the band's finest work. It featured a more traditional & gritty heavy metal sound as opposed to the more symphonic work the band would go on to produce. Definitely worth a listen if you haven't heard before.

The original line-up featured Jon Oliva on vocals & piano, Criss Oliva on guitar, Keith Collins on bass and Steve Wacholz on drums.

60 years ago, today, "The Flesh Eaters" was released by Vulcan Productions. The film was written by Arnold Drake of DC Comics Fame and directed by Jack Curtis.

Starring Martin Kosleck, Rita Morley and Byron Sanders, this horror cult classic is often considered one of the first gore movies due to scenes that were much more graphic and violent that other movies of the time.

"An alcoholic actress, her personal assistant, and their pilot are downed on a secluded isle by bad weather, where a renegade N**i scientist is using ocean life to develop a solvent for human flesh. The tiny flesh-eating sea critters that result certainly give our heroes a run for their money - and lives." - Howard Clegg

Check out the comments for a link to the film in its entirety with one of the more graphic scenes re-added.

30 years ago, today, Castlevania: Bloodlines, was released in North America. A vampire named Elizabeth Bartley is orchestrating the beginning of World War I as a sacrificial war to bring her uncle, Dracula, back to life. Players take on the role of Quincey Morris' son, John, and his friend Eric Lecarde to take up the fight against evil.

Developed and published by Konami, this was the only Castlevania game to be released on the SEGA Genesis console. This was also the first Castlevania release for which Michiru Yamane composed music. Strongly influence by Bach, she composed a renowned soundtrack, leading to her becoming a recurring series composer.

20 years ago, today, Grip Inc. released their 4th and final full-length album, "Incorporated," on Steamhammer. The band was formed as a side project of drummer Dave Lombardo after leaving Slayer to be present for the birth of his first child.

Although not widely known, this band and album in particular presents a very unique and exotic sound while maintaining the aggressive nature of traditional thrash metal. If you haven't heard this album, you need to broaden your horizons.

The original line-up featured Gus Chambers (R.I.P 2008) on vocals, Waldemar Sorychta on guitar, bass, keyboard and backing vocals and Dave Lombardo on drums.

Check out the comments for a YouTube link to the full album. Do yourself a favor and give it a listen.
