After dishing up food for the Bennington community countless times over the last thirteen years, it is with mixed emotions that I announce Bringing You Vermont will be serving its last meal at our 434 Main St location on Saturday, December 30th after which we will close to the public. I’ve made no secret of the struggles faced by small businesses in general and by us as a family over the last few years. We have continued to “Soldier On” as we have always done despite repeated hits from various directions. During all that time and all those trials, catering has been an integral part of what has kept Bringing You Vermont viable. Over the last several years as the world has tipped on its collective ear, we have chopped and sliced and stirred and baked in an effort to not only make sense of the craziness and as a way to make income but as a way to hopefully infuse love and comfort into our community. I am at a crossroads in my life where I am simply unable to physically meet the demands that food production entails any longer. To that end, the time has come for us to take a step back, regenerate, reevaluate and regroup over the coming months. We are not going to dissolve Bringing You Vermont but we *are* going to take some time to make some strategic adjustments with regard to the vastly changed business climate and the evolving needs of our family. We encourage you to use your gift certificates but they will continue to be honored at our Woodford location. We will be fulfilling any orders that we have on the books through December 30th. We hope you will all venture up the hill and visit us there where we will continue to serve all who enter our doors with all the love we have to give. We will be taking January to move items to our Woodford location and connect with vendors regarding their consignment pieces. We would like to thank our staff both past and present who worked tirelessly and with much heart to welcome and serve you over the years. We certainly could not have done it without them. We thank you for your patronage and encourage you to continue to support your community’s small businesses as you have supported ours over the years. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you.
May Peace be with you,
The Hassett Family
