Oregon’s Red Flag law is extremely broad, and judges seem to hand out orders disarming Oregonians like candy on Halloween! Like stalking protective orders, judges hear the initial petition “ex parte” — without you present — and often the same judge who issued the initial “ex parte” order decides the fate of your challenge!

If you have a negative interaction with law enforcement, a pi**ed off ex, or an anti-gun relative, you could be disarmed for a year (just for starters) and forced to turn over ALL your arms to law enforcement.

I recently heard that Marion County judges are creating an expanded program for disgruntled exes!
