I have closed up the retail shop and semi-retired. Eventually, I'll be able to assist with internet sales of estates and consignments, but will no longer be able to accommodate new orders or transfers. A big thank you to all the customers that visited the shop over the last 20-plus years and helped us keep the lights on. Many friendships were forged and I'll miss the daily interactions. Now that I'll have more time to shoot, you might find me at the range. Thank you all!

December 16, 2022

OSP has received concerns regarding the order in which transactions are being
processed. We understand the portal is indicating some individual transactions
are moving backwards. Unfortunately, this is due to the way the system
interprets the transactions as they come in. Regardless, OSP is able to track and
process transactions based upon the date received. We will continue to process
transactions based on the date of receipt.

As I type this, there are currently 37,000+ background checks in the queue, of which 12,000+ are CHL holders.

Here is an update posted today, 12-12-2022, by the OSP regarding a procedural change in prioritizing CHL holder's background checks.

The Oregon State Police (OSP) has previously processed Concealed Handgun
License holders at an expedited pace through the Fi****ms Instant Check System. For
years, this practice was efficient and effective. Recently, the unprecedented
surge in background requests caused a severe impact on the efficiency of this
practice and the overall background process. OSP has recognized this impact and
altered the background process to ensure background requests, that are in the
"Queue", are processed in the order they are received by the FICS Unit.
