Well, friends, it’s real now!

The website has been deactivated and I just signed a contract to teach Kindergarten at Live Oak Elementary next year, in their dual immersion program, and the kids are all coming with me!

We are all nervous, sad to not see friends as often, and super excited for this new adventure and to get to be together!

Everyone send your good thoughts out into the universe that the CA commission on teacher credentialing renews my credential asap!

Better use this nervous energy to sew a few new teacher dresses 😉

All of these beautiful orders, cut and printed and ready to go, except…

I’m out of boxes! 😂😂😂

I will be at that post@office when they unlock the doors Tuesday morning and will have these babies packed up and headed towards you by the end of the day Tuesday!

Friends! 19 orders are heading to the post office this afternoon! The shelves are getting very empty! And I am only going to keep accepting pattern printing orders through this Friday!

If you have a gift card, please do not wait to use it! If you have patterns to download (including those from surprise kits), please download them as soon as you are able!

Next week (I will have one more batch of beautiful surprise, I ordered 8 months ago, fabric, that just arrived and is so gorgeous but I’m not allowed to give you any sneak peaks! That will sell first at full price in the Facebook group and we see what happens from there, but I don’t suspect it will last long and I don’t think what is left on my shelves will last much more than a week either.

Wow! Wow! Things are feeling very real over here!

What fabric am I going to use for the just released Dragonfruit Dress?

Nani Iro Fuccra Rakuen double gauze in a color way that is so gorgeous, that the second I opened the box, I decided I was unprepared to share it with anyone so I have kept the bolt hidden away for myself, unphotographed, unlisted.

It’s 11:30am now, I am attending the Santa Cruz County Q***r Youth Leadership Awards at 6 this evening and it’s a 45 minute drive away.

I am hitting print on the pattern now. Who thinks I can do it?

Friends! The cards I pulled this morning are telling me exactly what I already knew, but definitely needed to hear-

It’s time for the tower to fall, to finish up with this closing of the shop, to move on from what was, so that I can move forward in creating my dreams of what is to come!

And that means as of now the entire shop is 30% off, discount will be taken at checkout, no code needed!

And if you are waiting on an order from me, they will go out this afternoon! Finally feeling healthy and like my best self again after a few days of a crummy cold (and many negative rapid tests and a negative PCR). Dropping them at the post office on my way to take June to get her cast off!

What better way to spend a semi-quarantined with one kid Mother’s Day than passing on the love of making that my own mom shared with me, by helping her create her first ever skirt?

Elastic-topped double gauze pockets made, 4 linen and rayon challis panels sewn together, waistband pressed, then we needed some lunch and a lie down.

I hope you all are having the very best version of this day that you possibly can, wherever you are and whatever it means to you!

(Semi-quarantined due to a few days of fever, cough, runny nose and body aches for her, sore throat and body aches for me. Three negative rapid tests and two negative PCRs between the two of us, but whatever these germs are, no one wants them!)

It has come to my attention that I am not doing a particularly great job at spreading the word that Maker Mountain Fabrics is closing down!
Apparently, one reel, one post and two emails over the course of a month does not reach everyone!

Friends! So much beauty has been flying out of these doors all week! I keep meaning to share pictures with all of you, but somehow I wrap it and pack it and ship it and forget to stop and take a pic until it is too late!

I am completely obsessed with every one of these brand new fabrics- 4 ikats, a quilting cotton, a rayon challis, and two embroidered crinkle gauzes and they are all up in the shop at last, in the “newest new fabric” section.

I am dreaming up projects for every single one, picturing the spring and summer ahead, wearing these new pieces that would bring me so much joy getting dressed every day! Spending time with my family and good friends, relaxing in my garden, playing on the beach.
