Happy birthday to Mrs. PolliNate 🎊 She offered to help work bees and pull honey supers all day on her birthday. Finished the day completely soaked with sweat but still smiling. Ive had several long, hot days in a row and appreciated the help and spending time together. They dont make too many like that anymore. 🥰

If you drive by the homestead and notice that the bee yard has a lot of these hives missing have no fear. They didn't die or disappear. In fact, our over winter success rate was 95.2% We moved some out to start another bee yard. Over the next few weeks splits will be made from some of our other bee yards and return back here. This allows new queens to mate naturally and keep the diverse genetics distributed throughout our different Belmont County locations.

Please excuse the slight mess in our pickup room over the next week or two. I had to move some temperature sensitive things in here. One of them being a lime tree with limes... in Ohio... in January! 🏖

Have a jar of honey in your cupboard that has been there awhile and looks something like this? Don't throw it out! It's still good! Honey crystalizes faster at cooler temperatures. Each of our jars has has a label on the back that explains the procedure to turn your honey back to liquid. Just place the jar in hot water for awhile and give it a shake. It may take a couple times if it's a solid brick but it will get there eventually. 🐝🍯❄️
