The Center in Asbury Park is proud to be “floating” once again in the NJ Pride Parade on Sunday, June 7th, in Asbury Park! We’re excited to share that Des and the Swagmatics will be performing live on the float again this year as well. Dancing in the streets, with Des, was such an amazing experience last year, and this year promises to be even bigger, brighter, and more colorful.

We’re currently looking for a few sponsors to help offset the hard costs of bringing our float to life. Sponsors will be recognized with signage on the float (see visual) and help us celebrate love, visibility, and community in a proud way — please DM us for sponsorship details!

This month we’re shining the spotlight on Ronnie Hlatky, one of our dedicated front desk volunteers. After retiring from teaching, Ronnie found a new way to give back through kindness, connection, and service each Monday morning alongside Dotti.

From welcoming clients and serving lunch to helping prepare pantry and hygiene bags, Ronnie’s warm smile and compassionate spirit make a difference every week.

Thank you, Ronnie, for being such an important part of why we LOVE our volunteers.

This month we’re shining the spotlight on Barbara Kittle—our always-smiling, deeply dedicated kitchen volunteer.

For over 7 years, Barbara has been showing up with heart—first cooking and delivering meals from home during COVID, and now side-by-side with our kitchen team helping prepare meals for our community.

Her time at The Center has not only made an impact on those we serve, but has also brought meaningful connection and support into her own life.
