We had a blast on Thursday at the North Sound TU Iron Fly Competition at Larrabee Lager Co. Face masks, Christmas Ribbons and a heap of my cat’s fur were just a few of the oddball materials tiers incorporated into their creative patterns. Congratulations to all the winners!

We’re going to miss this kid around the shop as he’s heading off to college on Monday. It’s been an absolute pleasure working and fishing with .b_gnarrr. We’re proud to have you as part of the Confluence Fly Shop team. To all the steelhead on Vancouver Island…watch out! Teo is one fishy dude. We will look forward to having him back at the shop over winter break. In the meantime, we’ll think fondly of Teo every time we find another piece of pink marabou in some hidden corner of the shop.

Got to practice for the Northwest heat wave with a week chasing baby tarpon in the Yucatán, Mexico on our annual Confluence Fly Shop hosted trip to Tarpon Cay Lodge. Flamingos, saltwater crocs, a great group of anglers, incredible food and hospitality at Yuum Ha in Rio Lagartos and of course a special thanks to the many beautiful sabalitos that got suckered by our fur and feathers on a hook each day.
Already looking forward to the next trip. Hit us up on DM if you’d like to join us the next time around.
