It’s only Saturday morning, and Bonsai Outlet is already buzzing.

We have a Bonsai Basics workshop happening in the tent, a Brazilian Raintree workshop in the classroom, Kaikou Year 1 students on-site, and John teaching a private session in the courtyard for Kaikou Year 2 students.

This afternoon, we’ll keep the momentum going with a full Kaikou Year 2 workshop and an open workbench.

Come by, walk around, enjoy the bonsai energy, and maybe even pet a friendly dog or two. Dogs are always welcome at Bonsai Outlet. 🐾

It’s a great day to be around trees.

We’re turning Greenhouse 1 into a year-round clearance section.

In the past, clearance trees were usually held until fall, but we’re doing things a little differently. We buy trees from growers and collectors weekly, and the reality is, we need the space.

These are healthy trees, but they may be larger pieces, trees we didn’t get around to repotting, consignment trees, or inventory that simply needs to move along.

If you’re looking for a deal, this will be the greenhouse to check first. New trees will be added regularly, so it’s worth stopping in often.

If you’ve ever visited us in person and heard us trying to talk to a customer on the cordless phone, you already understand It only works in one magical corner of the building.

We’re moving the number from the old landline to a cell phone.

During the transition, phone service may be temporarily unavailable.

As always, email is still the best way to reach us. We only have one phone, and we’re usually not standing next to it.

Heads up for anyone visiting us this Sunday (tomorrow).

This caught us a little by surprise, but the Town of Bellingham is hosting its Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 17. The parade steps off at 1:00 PM from Bellingham Middle School and will travel along South Main Street, and North Main Street.

We usually keep Memorial Day weekend pretty light with workshops, but if you’re planning to visit the nursery, please plan ahead.

Best advice:
Avoid downtown/Main Street around parade time if you can. There may be road closures, delays, detours, and no street parking along the route. Try to visit earlier in the day, or come after the parade has cleared.

Please follow posted detours and police direction. And of course, thank you to everyone participating in and attending the ceremony to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

See you at the nursery — just maybe not by way of Main Street at 1:00. 🇺🇸

Possible alternate approaches:

Use the Franklin exits off I-495 instead of coming directly through Bellingham Center:

I-495 Exit 43 / Route 140 / Forge Park area
I-495 Exit 41 / King Street area
From there, use your GPS to approach us from the Franklin / south side of town and avoid the parade route as much as possible.
