This is my accidental beehive display. One of my nucs (nucleus colony - a starter hive) swarmed into the cedar tree at the right of the picture. I couldn't reach them because they were too high and the tree was too full to climb, so I set up a swarm box with some old frames on top of the fence hoping to attract them. A few days later they moved in.
We've since seen several passersby stop and watch them, so I decided to leave them. Yesterday, they needed another box. They're going to be difficult to take care of, but it will be fun for the walkers (and me) having them there.

My new daffodils have come up in front of my sign. I'm already looking forward to next year when they'll be bigger. 🙂

Bee vision is much different than ours. What they don't mention in the video is that when a bee visits a flower, the charge of the flower is temporarily neutralized and the bees can see that it has been recently visited.
