2025 has been AMAZING!
🎄 Introducing the Holiday Hope Tree — Help Us Fill It With Hope
Dear Friends, Neighbors and Supporters,
The holiday season is here — a time for hope, reflection, and coming together as a community. At Building Material Thrift, we’re excited to launch our 1st Holiday Hope Tree, a unique giving tradition that blends sustainability with compassion.
Every Donor/visitor is invited to choose a Small Hope Gift Bag, share a message or dedication, and let us hang it on our beautifully crafted unique tree — created entirely from repurposed and reclaimed materials. Each bag represents a donation that directly supports The Crisis Hotline, helping ensure our neighbors have a lifeline during their most difficult moments.
Your donation helps:
Keep crisis support available 24/7 - Training for Volunteer Responders - strengthen community mental well-being - Support local su***de prevention
This season, your gift is more than a donation — it’s a visible symbol of connection and care.
**🌲 Donate today and add your Hope Gift Bag Tag, or stop by the store and see our HOPE TREE. You can also bring a recycled ornament to share!!
💚 Hope Starts Here.**
Our goal is $5,000 and we can do it with your support!
Thank you for supporting a healthier, more resilient Blaine County.
Warmly,
Building Material Thrift Team

2025 Year in Review
BMT Store - Bellevue
We have an amazing staff that is proud to serve the customers and the mission! We modified our building to serve you better. We opened up the store, so that it is safer moving between rooms.
And...we won NONPROFIT OF THE YEAR!! (https://www.facebook.com/BuildingMaterialThrift/videos/689463547281131) (click on link :) ) Bellevue has been a good home for us and we are excited to grow with the community!
Pick-up/Deliveries
Thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous donor, we are able to keep our 26' moving truck on the road with very little down time! The expense to operate such a large vehicle and the impact, if we could not pick up all the amazing donations we are blessed with, would be a heavy burden if it weren't for the 2nd year of support! Thank you!!
Welcome Men's Second Chance in the HOUSE!! MSCL ROOM
This year we were excited to open up our tool room to create the MSCL Room and provide a space where the Men's Second Chance Living (a local safe and sober house), directed by Sonya Wilander, offer quality men's clothing, jackets, shoes and accessories with 40% of the proceeds to benefit the mental health services provided in to the men of the MSCL Houses in Hailey.
This is another exciting way your support is helping us to strengthen the overall mental well-being of our community!
Ohio Gulch Diversion Program
We are so grateful for a gift from the Wood River Women's Foundation of $2,500 and a generous Anonymous Donor who gifted us $17,500 to help us fund the part time staff we offer up at the new diversion station in Ohio Gulch Transfer Station. We have been able to re-direct over 27,000 pounds of usable items, including building materials, washing machines/dryers, furniture, etc from going into the landfill!! This public/private relationship with our Southern Idaho Solid Waste District, Blaine County, and the BMT has truly been a rewarding and fulfilling one, thanks to those who continue to believe and support our "life saving" work!
