SEEKING A PISTACHIO SPONSOR. I’ve got this picture book that I made that involves pistachios and wee ninjas that came about from a lie I told my daughter when she was a little younger, and still hadn’t learned to distrust anything out of my mouth. I was going through a 3-day streak of eating a few pistachios at night, and she asked why I always ate them before bed.

So I lied and said it was the antidote for the poison that the wee ninjas give me daily. Fast forward: that 3-day streak turned into over a year of kids stuffing me full of pistachios. At this point, I’m probably like 60 percent water, 30 percent pistachio, and 20 percent b.s. (maybe like 2 percent undigested Big League Chew and 1 percent random movie quotes). I realize that adds up to more than 100, but I always aim to give at least 110 percent.

Listen if you’ve made it this far, I appreciate you, and you should just go ahead and buy a copy of the book that is finally out after a very long bout of procrastination. If you do buy it, if you could leave a review that’s five stars or says something nice (even if it’s about your mother or something unrelated) that would be super appreciated.

I’ve heard rumors from early readers that the book cures baldness and insomnia, though I can’t substantiate that. And if you’re in any way tied to big pistachio, or even mom and pop pistachio, I’m seriously seeking sponsorships.

Right now, the book is sitting at like #333,452 on Amazon’s ranking for books about ninjas and nuts, so it’s hard to find. The Amazon link is below. You can also find it in my store origamigiant.com.

I was fortunate last Saturday and only lost some fixtures and a handful of boxes that couldn’t be repaired. A few others who rely on the summer art season as their sole source of income were nearly wiped out. I threw what I could into the hat, if you’re looking to help other artists out here’s a way.

After a regroup, here with a slim-downed display in Aksarben Village at Omaha Art Fair. Still a lot of great artists to see on the last day. I’ll be here till 4. I’m still right next to Herbe Sainte.

UPDATE: Omaha Art Fair. There were some really damaging winds that came by just before I got here this morning. Our tent was intact but slammed by a few that blew across the street, and we have to dry some stuff out. Going to pack up for the day and will try to return tomorrow, or possibly later tonight. We were very lucky, it looks like some artists were completely wiped out. If you get a chance there are still a lot of great booths and artists to see down here.

Another great year at Planet Comicon. Got to see some old friends and meet some awesome new people. Nearly bumped into Ernie Hudson as he was checking into the hotel, sold a lot of awesome lightboxes, nearly bumped into Keith David at the coffee shop. Did not ask him to say, “You never touch another man’s fries!” but wish I had. Overall a great show and a great time! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us!
