A customer brought us a USB flash drive containing a wedding video that was nearly impossible to access.

The 18.9GB video would start playing, then freeze. Windows refused to copy the file, reporting device errors, and every attempt to transfer it failed.

For most people, that's the moment panic sets in.

Using professional data recovery tools, we performed a sector-by-sector recovery of the failing flash drive and were able to recover over 99.8% of the media. After imaging and reconstructing the data, the wedding video was successfully recovered and is now playable with both video and audio intact.

"My battery won't hold a charge and my keyboard is bad."

Many repair shops would immediately quote a battery and keyboard replacement.

We started with diagnostics.

🔍 First, we ran a Windows battery health report which showed the battery had lost nearly 30% of its original capacity. The battery replacement was justified.

But what about the keyboard?

Instead of ordering an expensive keyboard assembly, we opened the laptop and inspected the hardware.

📸 During inspection, we discovered the keyboard ribbon cable connection was loose.

After reseating the connection and securing it properly, the keyboard returned to normal operation.

Result:

✅ Battery replaced

✅ Keyboard fixed without replacement

✅ BIOS updated

✅ Drivers updated

✅ Full system tune-up completed

This is why diagnostics matter.

Secure Boot setting was wrong.
Fixed at the counter.

"Computer won't boot."
Started troubleshooting.
Spouse called and reminded him it was still under warranty.
Sent home.

Customer #3:
"I can't get into my computer."
Forgot Windows password.
Reset password.
No charge.

Customer #4:
"My printer keeps saying paper jam."

Found a decorative glass marble inside the printer.

Apparently the grandkids were conducting independent printer testing.

Removed marble.

A customer recently brought in a computer that suddenly started showing a **Secure Boot error** after a Windows update.

The computer still worked, but Windows was reporting a security-related startup problem that appeared after the update was installed.

What is Secure Boot?

Secure Boot is a feature built into modern computers that helps prevent malicious software from loading before Windows starts. Think of it as a security guard checking IDs before anything is allowed to enter the system.

Sometimes after a Windows update, BIOS update, hardware change, or drive migration, Secure Boot settings can become misconfigured and trigger warnings or startup errors.

In this case, we corrected the Secure Boot configuration and the system returned to normal operation.

The takeaway? Not every scary error message means your computer is dying. Many issues are caused by software updates, firmware settings, or configuration problems that can be diagnosed and corrected without replacing expensive parts.

That's why we always start with proper diagnostics before recommending repairs.
