Something new to try, our Dubai Cronut which we have for sale today. While they last (and they probably won't) they are $6.50 each. We've taken a flaky, croissant dough and caramelized it with sugar and baked it (I know a Cronut is fried but this is healthier) then we cut it in half and pipe in our Dubai filling with crispy kataifi and lots of pistachio. We then top it with a glaze of pistachio and more kataifi and chopped pistachios. If you come in and we've sold out, we have another special for you today. We are working on 5-6 new chocolates and we want your input on which are best. Everyone that comes in can try 2 chocolates for free and we just need your feedback. To be clear, you have to eat them here so we can record your feedback but its not every day we are giving out free chocolates. We are pretty excited about some of the new combinations with fillings we've never done before like marshmallow and nougat.

And on the 8th day, God made the Canele de Bordeaux. Ok, that may be taking it a bit far but if you've never had this incredible pastry that originated in the Bordeaux region of France, you're missing out. It has an almost custard like interior with a crunchy, sweet exterior. It is flavored with real vanilla and rum. We make them on Saturdays and Sundays at our Belleair store and they are only $4.00 (a steal for a good canele). Trust me, once you've tried them you will be hooked. Don't let their unimpressive exterior deceive you. They are made from an almost crepe like batter and cooked in copper molds for exceptional crunchiness.

We have enjoyed our 5 years in Tampa at our Midtown Tampa store but our final day of operations will be Sunday, July 26th. We have enjoyed being part of the Tampa and Midtown community and will miss the hustle and bustle of the unique landmark that is Midtown.
We have enjoyed hosting so many of you for our Afternoon Teas on the weekends and there is still time to enjoy one more cup of tea before we go. We still have spots available for July 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th. If you would like to make a reservation, call 727-593-0656.
Though our time in Tampa will soon be ending we are excited for our next chapter at our flagship store in Belleair Bluffs. We will be doing an extensive expansion of our retail store as we move our production to our new production kitchen. We will be able to triple our seating and will be adding croissants, quiche, sandwiches salads and other new items this fall once we finish the renovation. We hope our Tampa customers will make the trip to see us there.
It is with much gratitude that we want to thank all our Tampa customers for their patronage over the last 5 years and hope this isn't a farewell but a see you soon at our Belleair Bluffs store.

Whatever you do in life, if the best part along the way isn't the people you meet, you've chose the wrong path. One of my favorite chocolatiers I've met in my 18 years is Robyn Dochterman, founder of St Croix Chocolates in St Croix Minnesota. I knew while spending the weekend here I had to visit and I wasn't disappointed. She has sold the shop to the next generation of chocolatiers in Chef Jason but the same quality and creativity still shines through. Like me, Robyn stumbled on artisan chocolates somewhere halfway through life and her passion and dedication were contagious. She and her wife Deidre are on to their next adventure planting a chestnut orchard and I'm sure the same spirit that made her successful at St Croix chocolates will lead her on this new passion. I always love trying chocolates when I travel but it's even more special when I know the story of hard work and passion behind them.
