Happily Lost Designs Hi, I’m Mary, a proud military spouse to Bruce. Our family moves a lot which makes having a career difficult.

So we started Happily Lost Designs as a way to use our creativity, while being available for our three school-aged children. Having been welcomed and supported by quite a few communities surrounding military bases, it is important to our family to find ways to give back to those communities we call home. Donated engraving for an auction for Jim “P*e Wee” Martin’s memorial in Sugarcreek Township, Ohio.

P*e Wee was a paratrooper in World War II, including on D-Day. He served in the 101st Airborne Division and was a member of the “Screaming Eagles.”

He was one of the first Allied soldiers to infiltrate Nazi-occupied France. In addition to the invasion of Normandy, Martin also parachuted in Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands and the Battle of the Bulge.

The surrounding area at his 51 acre estate will become a Veteran’s Memorial to honor all veterans, local and afar, with a park-like feel. Per P*e Wee’s request, a plaque with names of all who served in the 506th PIR will be placed on or around the statue.

If you’d like to support this, there will be a fundraising concert honoring a local WWII Normandy veteran Jim "P*e Wee" Martin's memorial and statue dedication featuring Karen Waldrup at The Dublin Pub, in Dayton Ohio, on November 11th, 7pm- 11:30pm EST.

It was a tremendous honor to do this for the auction and future memorial. 🇺🇸 🫡
