It is with heavy hearts that we write to you today... This morning, our beloved Doreen Warner passed away into clearer horizons at 1:34 am. Preceded by her husband Jimmy Warner, we send her surviving children and family our deepest condolences.
Arrangements are being made accordingly. Details will follow later for a celebration of life for Doreen.
We the Scuttlebutt family ask for your patience in this raw time. Everyone here at Scuttlebutt loved her dearly, and feel her loss deeply.
For their love of sailing and all things nautical, we hope that Doreen and Jimmy are happily riding the winds across the sea, together again and at peace.

After almost 30 years the very bittersweet time has come for me to retire and close the store.
Being the proprietor of Scuttlebutt, turning a concept into a reality that was so well received, has been the most gratifying experience of my life and that of my late husband Harvey J. “Jimmy” Warner, making so many treasured memories of loyal customers and staff, fellow merchants, and even vendors who have become like family.
Beginning Thursday, July 21st, we will begin our "closing" sale. Your patience with downtown parking will be worth the huge savings.
When you see me out and about, please let me know if we brought as much pleasure to your shopping experience as we set out to do. I will never tire of hearing it.

Scuttlebutt was the 3rd-place winner of the 2021 Beaufort Business Window Decorating Competition. We are beyond proud of our window decorating team, Heather Poling and Cheryl Lawrence! 1st place went to Pecan Tree Inn, 2nd place to Inn on Turner, with honorable mention to Downton Antiques. Sponsored by the Beaufort Development Association.
