Dear staff, partners and colleagues,

As I reflect on the past year —as Chairman and CEO of the Reclamation and Restoration Ministries, Inc.— I am filled with gratitude for the extraordinary work you've accomplished in our collaborative work to help reduce crime and violence in our Ready4Life project focus communities in Baton Rouge. I am also deeply moved by your resilience in what has been a challenging time. Between 2021 and 2023, Baton Rouge saw a 33% decrease in homicides and non-fatal shootings, with the number of victims falling from 535 to 359, a steeper decline than in many other cities of its size.

The Ready4Life Project Community Engagement Street Team had high-risk interventions which resulted in very high-risk recruits, visited 840 residential homes and apartments and 61 faith-based organizations, distributed 8,095 promotional bags of materials, and attended 33 community collaborative events. The Ready4Life Project served 102 referred and recruited very high-risk and justice-involved program participants and 1,004 nutritious meals. 80% of the 1st and 2nd cohort of program participants that enrolled in vocational training received NCCER Certification (Baton Rouge Community College), and 95% did not recidivate.

Twenty-two (22) monthly Resident-Led CVIPI Community Strategy Forums provided resources for 83 organizational partners 209 residents, 51 high-risk and justice-involved program participants, 59 concerned citizens, 139 R4L staff, and 88 clock hours developing its “Four Pillars” Community Violence Prevention Strategy. Also, Transportation Services for 95 residents and 255 high-risk and justice involved program participants, Victim assistance, and 1000 Care Packages for needy families. The Ready4Life Project successfully engaged in all three C.V.I.P.I CORE FOCUS AREAS (enhancing community safety, violence interruption and reduction, and providing crucial resources).

Amid daunting challenges to include termination of our C.V.I.P.I grant funds after 2 ½ years of the 3-year grant period by the USDOJ and President Trump’s administration’s new priorities, partners like you — grounded in communities, driven by mission, and willing to adapt and innovate — offer both hope and tangible progress. Your efforts remind us to stay resolute in helping build a healthier, safer and stronger civic community and a more prosperous future for historically underserved communities.
As we close this year and look toward 2026, I want you to know how grateful we at Reclamation and Restoration Ministries, Inc. are for the work you do to build a better world.
Wishing you peace and joy this holiday season.

Reclamation and Restoration Ministries, Inc. (RRM) is a 501 (c) (3) Not-for-profit Domestic Corporation and Public Charity (not a church). RRM was organized on January 15, 1996, by Reverend Anthony Kelley and some visionary citizens of Gary, Indiana, incorporated on March 5, 1996, and received its federal 501 © (3) status in May 1996. It relocated its operations to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2005 when its Founder, Chairman and CEO was called to Pastor the Mount Zion First Baptist Church filling the Leadership vacancy after the retirement of the Reverend Dr. Theodore Judson (T.J.) Jemison.

The mission of RRM is to promote social and community wholeness by actively developing and implementing relevant and life-changing projects and programs that will prevent and/or deliver youth and adults from violence, crime, truancy, drug abuse, homelessness, and prison and to equip and/or restore them to lead responsible, meaningful and productive lives. As a non-profit Public Charity, contributions to RRM are deductible under section 170 of the IRS Code. RRM is qualified to receive tax deductible gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code. RRM depends upon public and private funds to operate its projects and programs since its organization and has served 13,835 youth and adults through its programs. RRM staff range from 4 to 15 employees depending upon the project or program goals and objectives.

Your special gift today will help RRM continue providing skills-building, education and vocational training, financial literacy and entrepreneurial education, employment and service-learning opportunities, and mentoring services to our youth and young adults in at-risk situations who reside in historically underserved communities. Your generous donation will ensure that despite the political termination of federal funding for our community violence intervention and prevention projects that works, RRM will continue to provide hope, skills-building, and opportunities for individual, family and community empowerment.
