James searched for a pot of gold in the park (was not successful) but atleast the sun is out!

As the summer gets longer and dryer, remember to check your local stream’s temperatures. We have noticed the past couple of weeks that water temps have already approached the mid 60s in some streams. The rain will often cool the streams down for a bit, but make sure those temps aren’t getting into the upper 60 degree range as it puts a lot of pressure on the fish.

First thing in the morning or later towards the evening are great times to hit the water when temps are a bit lower and fish are a little happier!

They mimic bugs, such as hoppers, that trout are feeding on near the bank. The Chubby Chernobyl is one of our shop favorites due to its great profile that it actually shaped out of foam, helping it stay floating high all day!
