Employee Spotlight: Steve, The Heart of Broadway 🤎
If you’ve ever walked into our shop and felt like you stepped back into a simpler, sweeter time, you’ve felt the influence of our owner, Steve.
Steve’s journey with Chocolates on Broadway started long before he took the reins. He began working here part-time back in high school, learning the rhythm of the kitchen and the magic of the molds. By 1989, he was here full-time, and around the year 2000, he officially stepped into his leadership role.
For Steve, this isn't just a business, it’s a family legacy. After his father passed away in 2008, Steve’s commitment to running the shop only grew. He wanted to ensure that the craftsmanship and the community connection his father valued would continue to thrive for years to come.
What keeps Steve inspired after all these years? It’s the fact that no two days are ever the same. He loves the creative side of candy making, coming up with new ideas, trying out different techniques, and most importantly, interacting with all of you. For him, the most rewarding part of the job isn't the chocolate itself, but hearing the compliments from a happy customer and knowing he’s played a small part in your family’s traditions.
A few of Steve's personal must-haves:
🥨 Milk Chocolate Pretzels (The perfect salty-sweet snap!)
🥜 Anything Peanut Butter (If it’s got PB, he’s a fan.)
Next time you see Steve behind the counter or heading back to the kitchen to check on a batch, be sure to say hello!
Do you have a favorite memory of Steve or the shop from over the years? We’d love to hear it!
