If you missed the reception, the new show featuring oil painters will be on display throughout August!

08/08/2026

Join us for a reception today, Saturday, August 8th from 2:00-4:00 pm to honor the gallery’s oil painters. The Featured Artists are Alan Remele, Ava Richey, Carol Howald, Jen Leigh Lee, Kathleen Morey Bailey and Mary Perez. All are talented painters with their own unique style that is easy to recognize.
Oil painting artworks are created with pigments that are an art form that’s been used for centuries because of its rich color, versatility and durability.
Alan Remele states, “Most of my paintings depict a scene or place that my wife and I have been to in our travels to complete a marathon (26.2 miles) in all fifty states. I guess I do like to paint Lighthouses, but I am willing to try any subject.”
Ava Richey, a knitter and weaver, is now active in the visual art community as a painter, teacher, and motivator. She is inspired by nature’s beauty in all parts of life.
Carol Howard says she has enjoyed traveling throughout the state of Oregon and is creativity inspired by its many spectacular scenes, its interesting harbors and boats, as well as dramatic seas at the river bars.”
Jen Leigh Lee’s goal remains to create artwork that resonates with soul, beauty, and enduring emotional presence. She endeavors to bring both technical skill and heartfelt sensitivity to everything she creates. Jen will also be bringing her fine art painting after Rembrandt to discuss.
Kathleen Morey Bailey stated, “In Bandon, I paint with the Plein Air group and in my home studio. My special gift is to be able to feel the Essence Energy of a person, place, or object and paint it on canvas in oils…Big, Bold Abstract designs.”
Mary Perez’s goal as a painter is to describe a scene with brushes and paint, one view at a time. A wind-carved tree, a sea rock reflected in the wet sand, or a setting sun over the jetty in winter. She also loves to paint still life and simple florals to honor the beauty of the everyday.

The gallery is also featuring the Members’ Show, “Drifting Along the Coast.” The show will run from August 5th through August 30th. At the reception enjoy refreshments and acoustic music by Peter Radabaugh. Meet the featured artists, other art lovers, and several Gallery Members.
